A young woman (21yrs old) claiming to be Elena Votrina from Ekaterinburg contacted me many months ago via Yahoo. I suspected it was a scam, but I played along for the fun of it. She professed her love for me and her desire to marry me rather quickly (uh huh .. suuuuure), and sent many photos (some of which are already posted on your site). The clincher came several weeks after her initial contact. She told me her mother had invested several hundred dollars in a Russian telephone company that had gone out of business, and that if she did get several hundres dollars soon, both she and her mother would be forced into the street. She asked med to send several hundred dollars to her via Western Union (I cannot recall the exact dollar amount requested). I called Western Union and asked if they knew about this Elena Votrina in Ekaterinburg, and they told me they had several pages of men from all over the world sending money to this same person for several months. Case closed. So word of advice for everyone who is actually considering a foreign bride: if they ask for money, they are scams. To prove it, call Western Union (from what I have read, this is the preferred mode of money transfer) and check on the name used. Here are some of the other pictures of Elena Votrina.Tig

Hey Guys, My name is Bob and I live in St. Louis, Missouri (U.S.A). We should dedicate a complete page just for this one. After reading this Black List, Ive seen her picture plastered every where. I received my first letter from her on June 15, 2001 when she responded to an ad I had in FriendFinders personals. And Ill admit, at first I believed what she had to say, I had no reason not to at that point. She told me the same stories Ive read here that she told to other guys. How hard of a life she has had , that her income is only $40 a month, and of course all of her dreams about love and raising a family. Never answering any of my questions I might add. And I actually felt sorry for her. However, I did think she was just looking for a free ticket to the U.S. of A. Then in her 6th letter, she told me how much she loved me and wanted me to be her husband. In her 7th letter, she told me how she went to the embassy and learned that it only cost $350 to get a visa to America.
