My brother met svetlana online in february 2007, at a site called eastwestmatchcom they communicated there, and then she gave him her phone number, which, by the way, is against the website rules ... They exchanged many sms messages over the next few months and she managed to convince him to come to russia to meet her ... At first, she said she had a friend who owned the hotel ' matisov domik,' in st petersburg,and it would be best for him to stay there ... Then after some weeks she said, her aunt, olesya, had found an apartment for him to stay in, as they both wondered how he could stay in a hotel for 5 weeks .. (this is the time he told her he was going to be there for ). Svetlana said the price of the apartment was cheaper than the hotel, and more comfortable also.. Ok, so he arrived there in russia in early july 2007 and svetlana and olesya met him at the airport, where they took a cab and went straight to change his money, he was then driven to this apartment where svetlana told him ' the owner is waiting upstairs and svetlana needs to send olesya up to pay for the room as the owner thinks olesya is renting this apartment for her ...so he gave the cash , 76,000pyb to svetlana and she gave it to olesya who went up to the 13th floor ... sometime later olesya sent svetlana a sms, and they went up, no sign of any 'owner' but it looked ok, but michael said it felt wrong somehow for the next few days, svetlana spent time with him , but it was all mainly in the evenings and also , it seemed to him she was being evasive for example, he tried to hold her hand but she was against it, she said , russians don't do this in public.. Over the next 4 weeks they went to a few restaurants and mainly she came to his apartment in the evening, but only for a hour or so, where they talked and watched some tv, then she always said she was tired and needed to go home ... most of the time, she sent a sms saying she will come at say, 1pm, and ended up coming at 6 or 7 pm he was usually on his own in this time this carried on for the whole time he was there In late july svetlana stole his keys from the apartment while they were dancing at a disco, then made him pay 32,130pyb for them it was a rotten and terrible scam they left him in some hotel for 2 days while the new key was being 'made' in reality, they had the said key and were in the apartment and going through all his belongings .... svetlana told him many lies , such as ... ... -there are many restaurants at peterhof ... -people do not suntan on grass in st petersburg -russian girls do not behave like western girls , they are more strict -no sex before marriage -she loved him -she was going to come to perth with him -she would introduce him to her family before he left It was all lies, she is a clever and evil criminal scammer whose knowledge of english was used to defraud my brother, and also me, as some of this money stolen was mine , i loaned it to michael.. on the last day there , michael left a painting he did in her safekeeping, and also he gave her a engagement ring ...
