I traveled to meet Ekaterina ( Katja or Katya) Lonova in Ukraine the 2nd of January. We were going to visit several cities, including her home town Galich, to meet her parents. On the 28th and 29th of December she sent the attached mails, reassuring she was waiting for me. On arriving, she was not at Kiev??™s airport as we had agreed. From Kiev I travelled to Lviv where supposedly we were going to spend 5 days. As soon as I could I called her and several terrible stories came out. The summary is presented on her last mail from January 3rd, when I was already in Ukraine. It??s incredible how someone can stick to a false story to the end, no matter the consequences or the expenditures incurred by the other part to do the trip. I was basically left alone for two weeks, in an alien environment in the middle of a bitter winter. Fortunately I had the support of the local travel agency. I admit I acted as a fool, but initially I searched several scammer sites and she was not there. The way she acted sounded honest while we were in contact for 4 months. I just sent her money three times, to buy a cell phone that she did. To buy presents for Christmas, which I offered her and finally money for the international passport which I am not sure whether she obtained or not. With that passport we were going to obtain the visa to my country while we were in Kiev, in the last part of the trip.
